Choose from 2 different sizes of our 8/4 Basswood Rough Cut Lumber Packs; 10 Board feet or 20 Board Feet. We will carefully handpick an assortment of boards in the pack size of your choice.

What should I expect in my Lumber Pack?

10 Board Feet

  • Approximately 2-3 boards*
  • 4" to 8" widths
  • 48" lengths

20 Board Feet

  • Approximately 5-6 boards*
  • 4" to 8" widths
  • 48" lengths

Although these boards have been skipped dressed to show colour and grain, they will still require some TLC and additional milling. If you would prefer to have the milling done for you - check out our S4S Iroko Lumber.

*We always try to include the widest boards we have available at the time that meet the Rough Cut Lumber Pack specifications. Approximate board count is based on an average size of 6" x 48". Just like Afrormosia, Iroko is sometimes called African Teak. The heart wood ranges from yellow to a golden brown with a clearly marked pale yellow sapwood.

Fairly easy to work with although the interlocked grain can cause tearout during surface preparation operations. There are also deposits of calcium carbonate present sometimes which have a significant dulling effect of tool edges.

Fast turnaround, reasonable shipping costs

Very convenient to order online.
My order was shipped promptly.
I think it is supposed to be considered skip-planed, but my Iroko was fully planed and 24mm thick, and very flat.
However, there were some stains across the face of most of the boards, I think from boards used to sticker it. I took 3mm-4mm off the "show" side and can still see a bit of the staining.

Nice Sub

Very nice teak substitute. I can hardly wait to work with it. In the 1970's, a friend work in a boat yard, New trawlers came in from over seas on cribbing and beams made from this material. He told me to get some!
