- Description
- Working with 1/8" & 1/4"
Our top selling plywood pre-cut for you!
We have now developed 3 "house grades" so our customers can better understand what they are purchasing;
- Laser/CNC Grade : You can expect at least 1 face with no patches - often both!
- Patch 2 Sides : Patches will appear on both faces of sheet. Best value but reserved for painting or small parts
- Standard : A mix of both our Laser/CNC Grade and Patch 2 Sides grade. Expect about 80%-90% Laser/CNC Grade. Historically this is what we have sold and the grade of anything unmarked.
Did you know that all 1/8" and 1/4" Baltic Birch has the possibility of cupping/warping? This can happen because of the nature of it being thin and wide. Please see our "Working with 1/8" & 1/4" Tab for specifications and our Return policy.
Dimensions are +/- 1/4" of size listed.
Did you know that all 1/8" and 1/4" Baltic Birch has the possibility of cupping/warping? This can happen because of the nature of it being thin and wide. If and when that happens, this popular product for laser cutters can be accommodated by using simple techniques such as taping it down to a flat surface, or creating a jig that compresses it down flat. We always do our best to hand pick the highest quality pieces, but it’s important to be aware of this possibility when planning materials for your project.
If you require perfectly flat material for your project, we would recommend trying our TruFlat® Laser Plywood instead.

- 1/4" (6mm) - +0.4mm/-0.5mm

The quality seems very mixed. I cut 5 of the 15x30 sheets into 15"x15". 4 out of 10 of those are entirely unusable. They are warped up .75" from the center to the edges. Even if I pin them down, they would be dangerous to use on the laser when the cutout pieces pop back up. They would also not make a usable product. The rest have minor warping. I gave them the chance to make it right, the only offer was to ship it back. I understand some warping, but this is extreme. The shipping boxes also could have been reinforced. All the boxes arrived damaged. The customer service has been otherwise responsive and good.
When you get a good sheet of this, it’s really good to work with. But when you get a bad one, it’s extremely frustrating. Especially when you get many bad sheets in a row. I ordered 35 sheets of this. The first few cut real good with very minor glue pockets that could just be easily cut with a knife after the laser was done. But some of these are full of glue pockets. Last night I spent 3 hours cutting and recutting 3 separate pieces that should’ve taken just under an hour. Some of these have tons of glue pockets and they’re so bad that you really have to hack away at them with a knife, and usually by the time you do that the piece gets damaged in the process. And yes I’ve tried running more passes, but it just burns away the top of the material and ruins it before it ever cuts through. I’m thinking of switching to their craft ply for my bigger more time consuming cuts. This review isn’t to bash the wood vault. They’re not the ones making the plywood so it’s not their fault. It’s more of a review to warn the laser people out there that it can be very hit or miss. I also have an Xtool s1 40w, so it’s not like I’m trying to cut this stuff with a 5w laser.
Ordered 2 20"x30" Baltic birch 1/2" plywood sheets. Was received within days, perfectly packed and undamaged. Also, I had requested lighter sheets as blemish free as possible (for a wood burning project), and both sheets fit the bill. Great price, too. Previously, I was in the shop while visiting Ottawa, and bought some maple and walnut to make a chess board. Great selection and quality products all around.
Quality birch ply. Awesome service.
I have long used Baltic Birch plywood whenever I am building drawer boxes. Recently I needed a piece of high quality plywood that has dimensions requiring two 4'x8' sheets. I was pleasantly surprised to find that The Wood Vault sells Baltic Birch in 5'x5' dimensions. As that size was almost exactly what I needed, I saved having to purchase two full sheets; quite a cost saving!
I use the ¼" and ⅛ regularly for laser cutting and it works well!
The best for laser cutting! Malek helped me cut to the size I needed and ship to me, cuts like butter
Great product and service at an affordable price.
High quality materials, suited my needs
Good!
Cuts great with very few glue issues or voids.
So far so good.
This is my 5th or 6th order of 3/4” Baltic Birch plywood from the Wood and I couldn’t be happier. We live about 3 hours away so delivery is not an option and I drive an SUV which won’t fit a full-sized sheet of plywood so I always get them to rough cut for me. There is absolutely no comparison between their plywood and the junk sold by big box stores.
Excellent products that seem to cover all our needs. Fast shipping and competitive prices.
Very Satisfied, Fast delivery, better than Langevin Foret. Thanks
Unable to get that quality in my area. Quite pleased
Product is great just took a long time to get here.
Love the product just took long to get here.
Fantastic product. Works great in my laser.
I was very pleased with how quickly my order arrived, the shipping was fast and efficient.
I ordered 15 sheets of 20” × 30” Baltic Birch plywood. Unfortunately, about 5 of the sheets were significantly warped, which made them unsuitable for the larger projects I intended to use them for.
The remaining 10 sheets were in excellent condition and exactly what I was expecting. Overall, I appreciate the prompt service, but I hope more attention can be given to quality control and packaging to ensure all sheets arrive flat and usable.
I haven't used the BB yet but it arrived (early) and was in good shape
I do intarsia as a side hobby and use this plywood for backer boards. I am telling you it is top notch quality and I wont go anywhere else...I am in Windsor, Ontario. Wish I could get full sheets delivered but just too expensive. The shipping even for this size is decent and still cheaper then buying local. Thank so much TWV!
Great quality wood, nice and smooth. I purchased some to test with my laser, cuts well, there doesnt seem to be any weird glue pockets. Stains well too. The only reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is the true measurement is about 11.75x11.75, which is due to blade width when they cut the sheets from a 4 x 8 sheet. Also the edges have a bit of tareout from the saw blade. Otherwise good wood, and I will soon be placing an order for 250 12x12 sheets, the discount fir a large order is also a great bonus.
Perfect size and smooth surface for working with clay.
12" X 24" Baltic Birch Plywood
CUTS SOMEWHAT ROUGH W/ SOME TEAR-OUT, AND CORNERS UNFORTUNATELY NOT TRUE 90DEG, BUT OTHERWISE DECENT PRODUCT
I love the wood and that I can buy it already cut that it makes it easy for me as my hoppy calls for those dimensions the only thing I wish you had an outlet in Winnipeg so that I could go in to see what you have physically thanks
Product has excellent smooth finish, uniform thickness and density.
Fantastic product!
This is my second order to this Baltic Birch plywood. It is exactly what I need for my scroll saw project. I just wish shipping wasn't quite so expensive.
I have ordered a few times from KJP in the past and I have always been pleased with their products. I did have a few concerns with my most recent order. I contacted KJP and sent them a few photos. Their response exceeded my expectations. Quality products backed by a quality Canadian company. I highly recommend KJP.
