Wormy Maple lumber is one of the most unique types of wood!

Choose from 2 different sizes of our 8/4 Ambrosia Maple Rough Cut Lumber Packs; 10 Board feet or 20 Board Feet. We will carefully handpick an assortment of boards in the pack size of your choice.

What should I expect in my Lumber Pack?

10 Board Feet

Approximately 2-3 boards*

Approximately 5-6 boards*
4" to 8" widths
48" lengths

Although these boards have been skipped dressed to show colour and grain, they will still require some TLC and additional milling. If you would prefer to have the milling done for you - check out our S4S Ambrosia Maple Lumber.

*We always try to include the widest boards we have available at the time that meet the Rough Cut Lumber Pack specifications. Approximate board count is based on an average size of 6" x 48". What is Ambrosia Maple lumber? Well it's not actually a species - but rather two things that happen to the wood when it has been infested by the Ambrosia beetle! The most obvious is the tiny holes from the beetle boring through, but it also leaves some interesting streaking caused from a fungus it carries on it's legs. Of course it goes without saying all our lumber is kiln dried and these visitors are no longer an issue!

There can be a variance from batch to batch in terms of how much streaking we get - but we do try our best to send you the boards that have the most character. In regards to the tiny holes - they will need to be filled and it's a great opportunity to try our P-Tec Wood Filler.

my order review

overall i was please with the order, delivery time, quality of product etc...
i was very disappointed in what was supposed to be mahogany that I received. this was not at all what I wanted. I received what is often referred to as lauan or philippine mahogany. this product shouldn't be sold as mahogany.

However, we apologize for any disappointment with the type of wood you received. We try to be very clear in the item description that this is African Mahogany (Khaya), the most commonly traded Mahogany on the market these days. It is not Lauan - that is a totally different species.

4/4 rough cut ambrosia maple

This is excellent quality lumber, you would never think it was rough because it as good as most s4s. Great quality and beautiful wood! I will definitely be buying more from KJP!!

Don't count on receiving this product like the picture on the website. Mine had very little figuring in it. I regret even ordering it. Other product I ordered I was pleased with. I will probably not buy wood on line again. Too expensive to return if I'm not pleased.

i received this material with some ribbon stripped sapele and purpleheart i ordered it has great figure although the piece i received with my order 12 days ago was almost un useable it took a lot of work to use the piece more quality control is needed thank good i was able to put the damaged side face down in my table top
