Birch and Poplar

I received my order today. It was well packed. The ends on a couple boxes were broken a little but no damage. Maybe a little more packing tape may have helped. Very please overall and looking forward to my next woodworking projects. Highly recommend ordering from KJP

Fair

Lumber was ordered for a project but each board that arrived was unlike the other boards and impossible to assemble with matching grain and color. Guess I go with dark stain instead of a natural. finish.

Lovely, lovely wood

I scroll saw jigsaw puzzles, mainly of animals, so was impressed with the fantastic grain on this wood. It made the animals look so much better.

Yellow Birch 2x6x48 Rough Cut

About 6" of one end is cracked and unusable. The other length is quite warped. The maple that I ordered with this was very nice

Awesome!

Very rigid, decently thick veneer, and a nice finish on it. Not quite as perfectly flat as Baltic, but it’s close. This is a great alternative to Baltic birch at 70 bucks a sheet cheaper.

Very warped

I buy a lot of wood from you. Mostly pine. The birch I bought was very warped. I didn't check before I left your store so that's on me .

4/4 Yellow Birch Lumber

Description

There really isn’t much that you can’t do with Yellow Birch!

Yellow Birch is a great species to use as a secondary wood for hidden furniture components and drawer sides. It is also one of the most widely used species for veneer and plywood. What colour is birch? The sapwood is a creamy white colour while the heartwood is a light red/brown. You will occasionally see a beautiful lazy curl in this wood, often referred to as flame. Where do birch trees grow? This popular wood species is found all across Northeastern North America.

Although these boards have been skipped dress to show colour and grain, they will still require some TLC and additional milling. If you would prefer to have the milling done for you - check out our S4S Yellow Birch Lumber.

What is Rough Cut Lumber?

Rough Cut Lumber

Who are they for? These are ideal for those who enjoy working with machinery or hand tools to mill their own boards.

We use this term to describe boards that require additional milling. Rough Cut Lumber have been run through the planer to show the grain however they have not been dressed. You will need to mill both faces and edges. Rough Cut Lumber are available in specific lengths with varying widths.

For example: 4/4 x 6" x 24”

You will receive a board that is just shy of an inch thick, with a width in the range of 5-6”, and is 24” long.

S4S Lumber

Who are they for? These are ideal for those who aren’t equipped with the necessary tools to flatten and straighten boards.

The term “surfaced” or "dressed" refers to a piece of wood that has been milled. To achieve the necessary dimensions, we select a larger board to work from. Both faces and edges are then surfaced so you can be assured that the board is flat and straight. These boards are available in specific sizes.

For example: 3/4” x 5-1/4” x 24”
