Aspen wood color ranges from pale white to light brown with very little distinction between the sapwood and heartwood.
Workability
Aspen is easy to work with hand and machine tools. Glues and finishes well.
Uses
Boxes/crates, veneer, plywood, and various utility purposes.
Additional Comments
It is named "Quacking Aspen" or "Trembling Aspen" because the tree’s leaves tremble and quake even in a light breeze. This is caused by the long, flatted stalks (called petioles) on which the leaves are attached to the branches.
