Le Wengé est l'un des bois les plus foncés que nous proposons !
De quelle couleur est le Wengé ? Ce bois magnifique a un aspect distinctif avec un duramen brun moyen parsemé de rayures noires. Le grain est droit et extrêmement grossier. Il est souvent utilisé comme alternative pour les projets nécessitant un bois foncé comme l'Ébène. D'où vient le Wengé ? Ce bois dur et durable provient d'Afrique centrale.
Ce n'est pas une essence de bois pour les âmes sensibles. Il est extrêmement difficile à travailler avec des outils manuels ou électriques et il émousse rapidement les arêtes. Il ne se ponce même pas bien en raison des densités changeantes du bois. Les pores sont énormes et nécessitent d'être remplis pour obtenir une finition uniforme. Tout cela étant dit, les résultats finaux en valent largement la peine ! Le Wengé est utilisé pour les meubles, les tournage et les instruments de musique. Les échardes de ce bois sont nombreuses et désagréables. Elles se logent souvent dans la peau et peuvent provoquer des infections. Veillez à porter des gants pour éviter ces échardes !

The Wenge thins were clear of defects and planed to a consistent 1/4 inch thickness. The thins are great for trimming serving boards, though Wenge itself is brittle and finicky to work with.
Great looking boards! Will buy again
The four Wenge boards that I ordered were very good with no knots or checks. Three of the four boards were good color and grain matches to each other, which is all l needed for my table top. KJP/Wood Vault did another fine job with the order.
Good experience. Placing order easy, delivery timely, product quality good. Probably best to inspect prior to purchase if grain appearance is vital.
The one side of the Wenge lumber has small holes that look like damage from powder post beetles. It also has a larger hole/divot approx 6” from one end leaving that unable to utilize the full piece of wood. I understand wood isn’t perfect but for my first order I’m not overly impressed.
Really dark and great for that accent wood you are looking for. Good stuff!

Just what I expected
I prefer Wenge with a fairly straight grain and that is what I got. Another good purchase here.
This is my 2nd time ordering this Wenge and it's always perfect, to a concerning degree. Not sure what wizardry goes on there.
Wood is nice, straight and what would be expected of s4s.
Packaging on the other hand was not great. I know the shipper is not gentle. But the box had minimal tape on the ends for it holding as much wood as it was. The end of the package was completely ripped open and wood falling out. Some how everything was still intact with some damage to the ends.

Even though they were skip dressed I was a little disappointed with the amount of twist in the boards.
