Difficile de surpasser l'esthétique spectaculaire du Zebrano!

Son nom est évocateur! Le zebrano présente des rayures brun clair et brun foncé qui rappellent le pelage d'un zèbre. Vous trouverez de tout, des surfaces sciées sur quartier droites aux motifs en cathédrale chaotiques observés dans les matériaux sciés sur dosse. Également connu sous le nom de Zebrawood, ce bois populaire est couramment utilisé pour les meubles, les manches d'outils et même les skis.

Le bois est sujet à l'arrachement en raison de son grain souvent entrelacé, mais il se scie assez bien. Il se colle bien et accepte bien la finition, bien qu'un bouche-pores transparent soit nécessaire pour une finition lisse. C'est un autre bois qui dégage une odeur notoirement désagréable lorsqu'il est travaillé.

D'où vient le Zebrano? D'Afrique de l'Ouest. C'est un bois préféré de The Wood Vault et nous sommes impatients de voir ce que vous en ferez!

What is Rough Cut Lumber?

Rough Cut Lumber

Who are they for? These are ideal for those who enjoy working with machinery or hand tools to mill their own boards.

We use this term to describe boards that require additional milling. Rough Cut Lumber have been run through the planer to show the grain however they have not been dressed. You will need to mill both faces and edges. Rough Cut Lumber are available in specific lengths with varying widths.

For example: 4/4 x 6" x 24”

You will receive a board that is just shy of an inch thick, with a width in the range of 5-6”, and is 24” long.

S4S Lumber

Who are they for? These are ideal for those who aren’t equipped with the necessary tools to flatten and straighten boards.

The term “surfaced” or "dressed" refers to a piece of wood that has been milled. To achieve the necessary dimensions, we select a larger board to work from. Both faces and edges are then surfaced so you can be assured that the board is flat and straight. These boards are available in specific sizes.

For example: 3/4” x 5-1/4” x 24”

Fair

The boards are of the correct dimension, though one has a noticeable twist that had to be dealt with before use.

Heavily twisted boards

The wood looks great but it was heavily twisted and after jointing and planing, one of the boards was all the way down to 5/8" in thickness when it was initially about 15/16".

The boards arrived in great condition. I used them to build 2 side tables that came out quite nice. Please note they did require a little work to join. I took about 1/32 of an inch off the sides to get a perfect joint. It wasn't much work and I will consider buying them again.

Nice to cut. Doesn't gum up my bandsaw blade. It's grain is not open. Great for decorative accents.

I would love to review it, if it ever arrive. Tracking tells me it is awaiting clearance in NY for the past week

Received my lumber and it’s all great quality. Zebrawood is beautiful. The aspen as a substitute for holly is almost identical. I will be ordering again soon!

I have a request to make some wood pens for Canadian troops overseas, and the Zebrawood matches the tan color of the uniform. Great product. Cutting board and coasters turned out great.

Great colouring from the stock in house. All pieces purchased also had nice pores, larger it seemed than previous supply and the grain itself was nice and tight. No tearout at all. Pricing is right where it should be for its status.
