For a clean top edge. Need to go slower as chips are directed downward and will leave a rough bottom edge.

Often called a compression bit - get a sharp clean edge on both sides of your piece when set correctly. Ideal for laminates, plywood, and hardwoods.

Because these bits have a bearing mounted at the tip we recommend using them with a router table setup. Once you set the height so the bearing runs along the template edge - you'll have a clear view of the template while the workpiece sits on the table. Spiral bits will offer a cleaner cut - but are more expensive than their straight bit equivalents.
